Houses in Multiple Occupation or HMO
Under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 Order 2000, an HMO property is one which is occupied by three or more unrelated people. Any properties which fall under this umbrella must have a licence from the local authority. HMO's which do not meet minimum standards will not receive a licence and it will be an offence to operate without one (with large fines being payable).
For all HMO renewals and upgrading works, we pass on all our flats to HMO Scotland, a company we have worked closely with for several years. They combine vast knowledge with fantastic customer service and competitive rates to ensure that the complex world of HMO renewals is negotiated easily.
